Curriculum Overview

The D.El.Ed. program at MIE follows the curriculum prescribed by West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE), in compliance with the NCTE Regulations 2014. The program spans 2 academic years (Part I and Part II), combining theory, practicum, and a structured school internship for a total of 1400 marks.

School Internship (Part II)

The 16-week school internship is the cornerstone of the D.El.Ed. program. Student-teachers are placed in partnered primary schools where they:

  • Deliver supervised lessons in their subject areas (Bengali, English, Mathematics, EVS)
  • Engage with students, parents, and school administration
  • Observe and reflect on diverse teaching practices in a primary school setting
  • Conduct community-based and co-curricular activities
  • Maintain a portfolio and reflective journal throughout the internship period
